Can my child fly to Turkey alone, and what do they need?
Younger children can fly with the airline's paid escort service. For this you fill in a few forms at the airport counter. Do not forget the other parent's consent letter.
Airlines do not let children under a certain age fly alone. The age is usually 12, and 16 at some airlines. For younger children there is an escort service. The cabin crew takes your child from you and, on arrival, hands them over to the person you named.
Your child's documents then go in a pouch hung around their neck.
For passport control, it is a good idea for your child to carry a consent letter signed by both parents. For leaving Turkey, this is a notarised consent letter (muvafakatname).
Age limits and fees for the escort service vary by airline. Ask the airline when you book the ticket.
