Is there a new check when flying from Berlin airport to Turkey, and how early should I get there?
There is usually no extra check on flights to Turkey: everyone goes through the same passport control. If you arrive 3 hours early, you are often through in 20 minutes.
Recent flights from Berlin to Turkey have had no extra procedure. There used to be a separate fast lane, but it has been removed.
Arriving 3 hours before the flight is common, and it is often all done within 20 minutes. At busy times, such as Bayram or the school holidays, it can take longer, so arriving early is still a good idea.
Europe's new Entry/Exit System (EES) takes fingerprints and a photo from visitors who come on a visa. It does not affect Turkish citizens who hold a residence permit.
