How much chocolate can I take to Turkey in my suitcase?
There is a customs limit on food entering Turkey, but checks are rare in practice. If you are taking a lot of chocolate, check the current Turkish customs rules.
Turkey has customs limits on gifts such as food. Some people say the limit for chocolate is about 2 kilos.
Checks are rare. Suitcases with 5-10 kilos of chocolate have gone through without problems. If you are checked, saying 'it's for my family' can help.
If you take far more than the limit, though, you may have to pay duty. For the current limits, see the customs page of Turkey's Ministry of Trade.
