I lost a key when moving out of my rented flat. What should I do?
Tell your landlord or the property management company straight away and check your rental contract. The company may send you a bill or ask you to find a locksmith.
Your rental contract may have a clause about lost keys, so look there first. Report the loss without delay.
The company may send you a bill or ask you to find a locksmith yourself. The cost depends on the locksmith, so ask the company.
If there is no number on the key, you can offer to find your own locksmith. If you changed the lock yourself, you can offer to leave the new lock with its spare keys. Whether they accept is up to them.
