Which German language school in Berlin is good? What are experiences with Hartnackschule, Berlitz and Speakeasy?
If you want an affordable school, look at Hartnackschule, though reviews are mixed. You can also go to Die Deutschschule or Berlitz. For the telc exam there is Speakeasy or Die Deutschschule. With children, the VHS parent (Eltern) courses suit you.
At Hartnackschule, midday courses cost about 275 euros, which is cheaper than other schools. It also runs the telc B1 exam. Reviews are mixed: you can study there from A2 to B2, but critical reviews mention crowded classes and too few lessons. A lot depends on which teacher you get.
Die Deutschschule's teachers get very positive feedback. It is also an option for the telc B1 exam.
Berlitz gets very positive feedback too. It also offers job-related (Beruf) courses.
You can take the B2 exam at Speakeasy. There is one positive review of the exam, though the speaking part can take a long time.
If you want a course with Bildungsurlaub (educational leave), look at Humboldt University. Teachers vary from course to course: one review found the teacher very good one week and average the other.
With children, the VHS parent courses suit you: two days a week for about 25 euros.
