What should I do about health problems that feel urgent but are not a case for A&E?
Look for a quick appointment with the right specialist, for ringing in the ears an ENT specialist (HNO-Arzt). If you cannot find one, get a referral from your family doctor (Hausarzt), which sometimes speeds things up.
If your ears are ringing (tinnitus) after a loud event, try to get an appointment with an ENT specialist. In booking systems you can choose options such as 'Tinnitus' or 'first examination'.
If you cannot find a quick appointment, go to your family doctor first. With a referral (Überweisung) from there, you can sometimes get a specialist appointment sooner.
When practices are closed, you can call the out-of-hours doctor service (ärztlicher Bereitschaftsdienst) on 116117. If a life is in danger, call 112.
