TK says I owe back contributions. Should I object?
First go to a TK office and talk to them in person, as mistakes are usually corrected there. If the debt is correct, you can pay in instalments. If you think it is wrong, you can also file a written objection.
If your health insurer (Krankenkasse) says you owe back contributions, first find out why. Go to a TK office and talk to them face to face. If there is a problem, they usually sort it out there.
If the debt is correct and you cannot pay it all at once, ask for an instalment plan (Ratenzahlung).
If you think there is a mistake, you can file a written objection (Widerspruch). Watch the deadline given in the letter.
