How do I get a prescription for period-delaying medication?
Pharmacies usually do not sell this medication without a prescription. For a prescription, go to your family doctor (Hausarzt) or to the open consultation hours (offene Sprechstunde) of a gynaecology practice.
Getting a gynaecologist appointment can take a long time, so your family doctor may be the faster way to a prescription.
Some gynaecology practices have open consultation hours when you can come without an appointment. You can try that too.
If you have heart or circulation problems or a history of blood clots (thrombosis), this medication can be dangerous. Be sure to tell your doctor.
If you need it before a holiday or a trip, do not leave the prescription to the last day.
