How do I see a gynaecologist (Frauenarzt)? Can I go without an appointment?
You do not need a referral (Überweisung), and you can book through Doctolib or by phone. Some practices see urgent cases without an appointment. When practices are closed, you can call 116117.
If appointments on Doctolib are far off, turn on the option to be told when a slot frees up. Some practices only offer online booking to their own patients. If you cannot find a slot on Doctolib, phone the practice and explain your situation.
For an urgent visit without an appointment, go early in the morning and be ready to wait. Opening hours can be short, for example only until noon.
Even with statutory insurance, some services cost extra, for example an ultrasound outside routine check-ups. Ask about the price first.
Outside opening hours, the out-of-hours doctor service is on 116117. If a life is in danger, call 112 straight away.
